Central Hudson meter reading personnel aren't always able to read your gas or electric meter due to access problems or weather conditions.
If you receive a meter reading post card, left by the meter reader, you can either fill out and return the card by mail, or call Central Hudson's POWERLINE (Tel: 845.452.2700 or 800.527.2714) with your own meter reading.
Otherwise, we will need to estimate your usage for billing purposes.

Your meter may have fewer dials than this example; however the method used is the same.
Starting from left to right, observe on each dial where the position of the hand falls. If the hand falls between two numbers, choose the lower number, otherwise use the number at which the hand points directly. For example, the correct reading for the above 5 dial meter is . . . 71189
If the previous meter reading was 70575, then your usage would be 614 (ie: 71189 minus 70575 = 614).
