Destructive storms sometimes strike with minimal warning, particularly in summer. Here are a few key reminders and steps you can take to stay prepared:
1) If you ever see a fallen power line, stay at least 30 feet away from it and anything it contacts. Call 911 immediately.
2) Sign up for our text messaging service so we can send you outage updates.
3) Maintain adequate supplies of necessities such as bottled water, medication, non-perishable food, batteries, flashlights and cash.
4) Make sure your cell phone is fully charged whenever storms are forecast.
5) If you own a generator, only operate it outdoors in a well-ventilated area and follow all instructions provided by the manufacturer.
