Energy Fairs Inform Central Hudson Customers of their Energy Options Customers of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation will again have the opportunity to learn more about their energy options in the deregulated marketplace through a series of public Energy Fairs, to be held in September at locations in Fishkill, Kingston and Poughkeepsie. Central Hudson representatives and the New York State Public Service Commission will be on hand to discuss Customer Choice, or the ability of residents and businesses to purchase their electricity and natural gas from independent suppliers. Also, representatives from several independent Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) will be available to discuss their various products and services for both natural gas and electricity. The Energy Fairs will be conducted in a “trade show format,” through which attendees can visit individual booths set up by each participating organization and engage in one-on-one conversations with the representatives. Or, attendees may simply ask questions and obtain printed information about energy supply options. Light refreshments will be available, and there will be door prizes. The fairs, which will last from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., will take place:
"These fairs are held to help our customers obtain information about the competitive marketplace and energy supply providers currently doing business in Central Hudson’s energy delivery area,” said James R. Van Tassell, Central Hudson's Director of Customer Choice Programs. “Customers may visit any of the three sites at a time of day that's convenient for them, and there is no need to register in advance. Furthermore, customers are free to ask questions and gather information, and are under no obligation to enroll with a supplier.” Customers who have specific questions about their account can speak to a Central Hudson representative, who will have that information available. "Of course, customers can also choose to have Central Hudson continue to purchase the supply of natural gas and/or electricity on their behalf. Whether Central Hudson or an ESCO supplies the actual electricity or natural gas a customer uses, Central Hudson will continue to safely and reliably deliver that energy to all customers in the region." For additional information on new options in the energy market, visit Central Hudson at www.CentralHudson.com, and click on Energy Choice. Customers may also call (845) 452-2700 or 1-800-527-2714, and select menu option #5 to speak to a Customer Service Representative. Additional information specific to the Energy Fairs is also available at the Central Hudson website; look for the “Energy Fair” banner on the homepage.
