 Central Hudson Appoints Brocks as Vice President of Human Resources

(Poughkeepsie, NY) The Board of Directors of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation (subsidiary of CH Energy Group, Inc.; NYSE: CHG) has appointed Thomas C. Brocks to the position of Vice President of Human Resources of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation. Named Assistant Vice President of Human Resources in June 2003, Brocks is a 26-year Central Hudson employee with extensive experience in managing the utility's Human Resources division.

"Tom did an outstanding job developing and implementing our Corporate Compliance Program, and as chair of the Legal Compliance and Ethics Committee, has lead responsibility for maintaining an effective program. Tom has also performed extensive work in the organizational development area with responsibility for the overall development of the professional workforce and the associated programs of performance measurement and reward systems. His continuing work in this area will be critical in our identification and development of the future leaders and our further movement toward a performance-based culture," said CH Energy Group Chairman of the Board, President and C.E.O. Steven V. Lant in announcing the appointment.

"These contributions, in addition to consistently excellent management of the Human Resources division and its programs and responsibilities, have combined to result in Tom's promotion to Vice President of Human Resources. I look forward to working with him as we develop strategies to enhance our future success," Lant added.

Among other duties, Brocks will retain responsibility for labor and employee relations, safety, benefits, training, employment, organizational development, and ethics and legal compliance. He is a member of the Ethics and Compliance Officer Association and the Society of Human Resource Management who also holds the designation of Senior Professional Human Resources.

Brocks holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations from LeMoyne College, as well as a master's degree in Labor Relations from Pace University. He serves on the boards of St. Francis Hospital Healthcare Foundation, the Hospice Foundation and Family Services. He and his wife Margaret have three children and reside in Hyde Park.
