Central Hudson Crews Provide Mutual Aid Assistance in Nyack

Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation is providing 10 utility Commercial Representatives and supervisory personnel during the next two days to assist utility Orange & Rockland in addressing a natural gas interruption to approximately 500 customers in Nyack, Rockland County. Central Hudson representatives will take part in restoring service to residents and businesses by turning on gas meters and relighting gas appliances such as water heaters and stoves.

“We will provide crews and personnel to other utilities in need, provided the emergency needs of our own customers are met first,” said Charles A. Freni, Senior Vice President of Customer Services for Central Hudson. “Just as we depend on assistance from other utilities and private companies when emergencies impact our region, we will reciprocate with our crews when requested. Were it not for the mutual aid crews who provided valuable assistance during emergencies here in the past, repairs would have taken much longer,” he said. “Our assistance in Nyack will help expedite work there, as well.”
