Central Hudson Customers Advised of Potentially Higher Energy Use During Heat Wave |
Customers of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation are advised that electricity usage during this week, particularly Tuesday and Wednesday, will likely be higher due to hot and humid weather impacting much of the Northeast. The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO), which oversees the state's electric grid, indicates that electric supplies so far should be adequate to meet demand. “As the heat wave is forecasted to continue today and Wednesday, the demand for electricity is likely to remain high as residents and businesses use air conditioning to stay cool. Keeping conservation in mind during these hottest days not only helps manage energy expenses, but also allows the statewide electric system to provide sufficient energy to meet peak demands,” said James P.
