Central Hudson Pays Businesses to Save Energy Workshops will show how to use rebates, incentives for energy efficiency upgrades Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation has partnered with the NYS Small Business Development Center and local chambers of commerce to help businesses learn more about money-saving energy efficiency measures for their buildings and funding opportunities for upgrades. A 90-minute Business Energy Savings Workshop is coming to four Mid-Hudson Valley locations in Kingston on Jan. 26, Fishkill on Feb. 11, Poughkeepsie on Feb. 23 and Montgomery on March 24. This free workshop is for business owners and those with responsibility for the electric bill at retail stores, manufacturing facilities, office buildings, schools, places of worship, municipalities, non-profit facilities and other organizations. Attendees will learn about the typical costs and payback periods of energy efficiency improvements, commercial tax credits, financing support and on-site energy assessments, as well as Central Hudson’s programs including rebates covering up to 70 percent of the equipment cost of energy efficiency upgrades. Participants will also have the option of speaking one-on-one with local contractors who offer energy efficiency services. “Most business owners consider reducing overhead costs by lowering their electric bill, but many may not have the funding or resources for an energy efficiency upgrade during tight fiscal times,” said Energy Efficiency Team Leader Michael Spector. “This workshop brings all the resources and incentives together for those looking to lower their energy costs.” Presenters include Arnaldo Sehwerert from the NYS Small Business Development Center, Richard Torres from the Internal Revenue Service, and Central Hudson energy efficiency representatives.
