Central Hudson Alerts Greene County Residents of Service Scam

Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation has received customer reports of callers claiming to be utility representatives requesting permission to inspect the electric service panels inside their homes due to electric service upgrades in the area. Residents are cautioned that these callers are not affiliated with Central Hudson, and should report these calls to their local law enforcement agency or police department.

Central Hudson employees and contractors travel in marked vehicles and carry photo identification cards. For safety and security, residents may request to see this identification before allowing entry, and may also call Central Hudson at (845) 452-2700 or 1-800-527-2714 to confirm a visit from an employee or contractor.
