Central Hudson to Extend Natural Gas Lines in Hyde Park
Demand for natural gas is on the rise, as home and business owners continue to prefer the value, versatility and convenience of this clean energy source. To meet this growing demand, Central Hudson will extend natural gas lines within the Town of Hyde Park this fall. The two-mile extension, primarily along Route 9 and north of the hamlet, will provide natural gas to approved residential developments, and will give some existing homeowners and other property owners along the route the opportunity to use natural gas, as well. Those whose homes have the potential for a natural gas connection will be notified by mail. “This extension will expand the availability of natural gas within the Town of Hyde Park, enabling both new and existing homes the opportunity to use this clean source of energy for heating and cooking,” said Carl E. Meyer, President and Chief Operating Officer of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. “By working cooperatively with the Town of Hyde Park and property owners, this project can move forward to provide benefits to residents. “We will also work closely with home and property owners along the route to minimize any disruptions, and thank them in advance for their patience and understanding,” Meyer said. # # # |
